Christopher J. Gauland, DPM, was raised in East Islip, New York, located on the south shore of Long Island. He began his academic journey as a Diamond Scholar nominee at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Later, he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Physiology from East Carolina University and his medical degree from the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia.
Dr. Gauland underwent extensive post-graduate training, completing surgical residency programs at both the Midwest Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Midwestern Regional Medical Center/Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois. Additionally, he received Limb Salvage training at the Diabetic Foot Center of Lake County, Illinois.
He is a sought-after lecturer, delivering talks nationally and internationally on subjects related to foot and ankle infection, wounds, and limb salvage.
He lives in Greenville and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters supporting Pirate Athletics, traveling, and being outdoors.
